I am Trying To Meet My Neighbour, Part 1
“I’m trying to meet my neighbour” was our first creative step into the Albert Drive community. Our task was simple: “to try and meet our neighbour”. 13 of us each came up with our own unique performances designed to engage people going about their day on the drive. And on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th of October we braved the cold to see who we could meet. Whether they be residents, shoppers, businessman, school kids, teenagers, pensioners, workmen, postmen, dog walkers or police officers, we met them. And these are our individual experiences of those two days.
I Am Trying To Work With My Neighbour, Part 2
“I’m trying to work my neighbour” was our next big creative step into the Albert Drive community. Our task was simple: “to try and work with a neighbour”. 11 of us went out and again made a chalk box on the ground, marking our territory. We did not need to remain in our chalk box the whole time. Some of us approached a resident of Albert Drive, be that someone who lived there or someone who worked there, and asked to work with them. Some of us began an action that required others to come and help or take part or contribute to.
These blogs are our experiences of our time with this task.
