The Community Blanket.

I wanted to take a step forward from our experience of knitting the scarf; to find a way to create something that was more the community’s than something that was mine that other people had a small share in.

I decided that I would attempt to create a patchwork quilt, using donated fabrics, and starting with one square that I had brought along myself.

I visited Vox Motus at the Artist’s Studios, my first donors of material and I sat outside and began to sew my blanket. Fraser and Lisa also donated a generous amount of fabric towards my blanket. I promised that I will use all previous donations for the current blanket that we are constructing.

This blanket has then evolved and Emily and I began to sew together together to create a Patchwork for the People.
